Test Card World: Live from the Cellar

About the stream

Some cellars are eerie. Some contain the family air looms, pieces of rusting garden furniture or Bags for Life of defunct audio-visual adaptors. Some are a hot bed of damp and broken dreams. But one cellar in South Manchester, UK contains a magical kingdom of keyboards, cables, home-made money-can’t-buy-merchandise, charity shop songbooks and Test Card Girl, the UK’s most unlikely pop star (debateable).

Known in Manchester for her unique synth-folk style and rambling nonsensical on-stage chatter, Test Card Girl’s music has been described as having ‘Manchester’s heritage running right through it like the writing in rock’ by Elbow’s Guy Garvey. And now the time has come for a global audience to step through the TV static and enter Test Card World: Live from the Cellar.

Once a month Test Card Girl will take you on a musical adventure where lyrics from the past, found in ancient texts (bargain bins) will be re-born in creations made from tiny keyboards, loop pedals and love. After the stream, you’ll have exclusive access to 4 brand new songs created especially for the stream, and be in with a chance of winning a sensational hand-crafted piece of Test Card Girl merchandise.

All you have to do is place yourself in your most comfortable chair, arrange your drinks and snacks accordingly, and tune in on VierLive. Expect to be enveloped in the warm glow of nostalgic sounds, twinkling lights and powerful knitwear.
