Oliver Hohlbugger suprised us when he entered the norwegian musicscnere some years back. His debutalbum "The Choirboy" was greated with big entusiasm and praised by music lovers and the audience

About the artist

Growing up in Wienna, Oliver Hohlbruggers earliest musical experiences was the great classical composers, though his classical musical upbringing was soon to be influenced by both alternative and experimental music, and timeless artists from when vinyl record was the standard format. This reflect the eclectic sound on his critically acclaimed debutalbum "The Choirboy». Released on his own indie label it went under the radar for the big masses, but was was soon praised by music lovers, and stated album of the year by several critics from the Norwegian music scene. 

A highly personal record which Hohlbrugger describes as a farewell record. A reflection on who you once were, who you became and on everything you left behind. It is dark, sophisticated and evocative, with classic and grand arrangements yielding to more unpolished and primal moods from one moment to the next. The core of Hohlbrugger’s musical universe can be found in this lyrical and musical dualism, not compromising his own artistic aspirations. The album was produced by Hohlbrugger and Børge Fjordheim mastered by Grammy award winner Gavin Lurssen. He is currently working on a new album due to be released in 2021. 

 

About the director

Mads Eriksen is a scriptwriter and director with a various chatalog. He has a sense  for clean-cut kitchen table realism and weird, subtle stories with odd characters. He has won several awards as a screenwriter and has had short films at Norwegian and foreign festivals. He is really looking forward to diving into the Oliver Hohlbrugger universe!
