Yey!

My first solo album from 2004 "Francis` Lonely Nights" will be released on vinyl for the first time and I’m having a mini concert / mini lecture about it. I’ll talk about the period it was released and about the ripple effects it gave for my career.

Welcome to an exclusive and different evening at Maskinhallen in Tou, Sunday July 5 at 9 pm!

I’m continuing in these pandemonic times to breathe life into various old and new projects. This is just a fun project that we started a bit for my own sake and a bit for those who are especially interested. This time, I’m very excited considering I’m doing a 50/50 mini concert and mini lecture on the occasion that my first solo album will now be released on beautiful and locally made vinyl, printed here in Stavanger by T-Time Vinyl Plant. We’re limited to 500 copies.

We released the record in 2004 and it was my first record with English lyrics. It was only released digitally and in CD format. The material of "Francis` Lonely Nights" was recorded and toured with by a whole different band and in a short time pocket in the fall of 2004, between two other releases with the Kaizers Orchestra. The record garnered great reviews and the single "Go Tell Her" ended up on the radio charts. The Norwegian tour got extended with a round in Europe and ended with a week in the US / New York. The CD sold around 20,000 copies in Norway. Although the album was a side project, it became an equally important and essential album in relation to my further development as a composer and artist.

In Maskinhallen at Tou Sunday, July 5, I will perform half of the songs from the album alone on piano and guitar and tell the story about the period around 2004, why I went solo, what inspired me to do it in the midst of two Kaizers albums , about lifelong friendships and maybe discovering that "Francis`Lonely Nights" is possibly one of my most important albums.
