MIDI Polyphonic Expression (MPE) in Ableton Live.
MPE is short for MIDI Polyphonic Expression. It allows you to edit pitch bend, and other expressions per note, as opposed to normal MIDI expressions that affect all notes at once.
For example, with a normal pitch bend, if you play a chord on a keyboard, all the notes in the chord are bendt at the same time. With MPE we can have pitch bend for individual notes in the chord.
There are 3 dimensions of MPE: slide (x axis), pitch (y axis) and pressure (z axis).
Most MIDI instruments and MIDI controllers do not support MPE yet, but we can still use the power of MPE for all MIDI instruments in Live.
