Emma Ogier - Live from Woodstock NY

Last January we spent two weeks in Woodstock, NY recording my debut record in this studio. It is so special to be back and have the opportunity to play some of the tracks in the place they were created. This environment gave us the energy to create something special and it means the world to me to be able to share it with everyone during this live stream.

 

About the Artist:

Emma Ogier, a 19-year-old singer-songwriter from Houston, Texas, is quickly making a name for herself in the music industry. Drawing inspiration from established artists like Lori McKenna, Phoebe Bridgers, and Joni Mitchell, Emma's unique sound blends country and indie pop, creating an evocative atmosphere that captures the hearts of her listeners. Her talent has not gone unnoticed by her musical heroes, as evidenced by Maggie Rogers recently joining her for multiple duets on TikTok. Now with her sights set on her debut release coming on June 30th, Emma expresses that “First Base” speaks to the frustration felt by an individual who is stuck in a surface level relationship. She writes from the perspective of a narrator who describes feelings of attachment to the other person, but does not feel secure enough to tell them. The insecurity of rejection keeps the narrator from being honest. Leaving them on “First Base”. She goes onto say that she “wrote first base to help me better understand and cope with feelings associated with being misunderstood by individuals”.
